CDM Smith Water Resources Engineer 2 in Denver, Colorado
As a member of the Denver Water Resources team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by: Performing a variety of routine technical tasks which should provide experience and familiarization with CDM Smith's engineering methods, practices, standards, and company programs Using prescribed methods to perform specific and limited portions of broader assignments Working under close supervision, receiving specific and detailed instructions as to required tasks and expected results.
Job duties will involve handling tasks associated with river restoration, hydrology and hydraulics modeling, and dam breach analyses, among other tasks supporting water resource engineers and scientists.
Water Resources Engineer 2
CDM Smith Employment Type:
Bachelor's degree in Water Resources, Environmental, Civil or related Engineering with at least 1 year of post-graduate experience is required.
Masters strongly preferred (no experience required with Master's)
Registration as an Engineer-in-Training, or ability to obtain an EIT within 18 months of hire required.
The preferred candidate will have experience using hydrologic modeling software such as HEC-HMS and SWMM (on different platforms); experience or familiarity with using hydraulic modeling software HEC-RAS (both 1D and 2D modeling formats); experience using GIS software and using a variety of complex editing tools; familiarity with using CAD software for both design and analysis; ability to problems solve and desire to take on complex tasks and projects; strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to convey complex ideas and processes; and an eagerness to learn cutting edge hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software and analysis approaches.
