SUMMARY:We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Bridge Inspection TeamLeader/Bridge Engineer. The Team Leader is responsible for assisting in thesuccessful completion of inspection and design projects for the Denver,CO, office. This position reports to the Regional Manager.TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may beassigned.Supervise above water and underwater bridge and ancillary design, inspectionand evaluations.Responsible for assisting in proposal preparation.Prepare and monitor project budgets.Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.Able to perform moderately difficult engineering computations and estimates indesigning engineering projects.Able to prepare complete engineering plans or reports.Ability to be responsible for moderately difficult engineering projects infield or office in accordance with plans and specifications.Ability to supervise the work of entry-level engineers, drafters andadministrative staff.Ability to make independent decisions within a general framework.Makes design recommendations and/or adaptations.Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment toprepare engineering and design documents.Be active in Technical societies.Be available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.Knows how to perform his/her duties safelyQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of theknowledge, skill, and/or ability required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year universityMust have passed the 2-week course NHI/FHWA Safety Inspection of In-ServiceBridgesMinimum of 5 years of bridge or ancillary structure inspection experienceE.I.T.Certification or CO PE a plusLANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals,professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write technical reports, business correspondence, and proceduremanuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questionsfrom groups of managers, clients, and the general public.REASONING ABILITY:Ability to define problems, collect data, evaluate facts, and draw validconclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technicalinstructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstractand concrete variables.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must bemet by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of thisjob.
