Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Sustaining Engineering Manager to join the Lighting Sector Team in Denver, Colorado. The successful candidate will join the New Product Development team at Pinnacle Architectural Lighting to develop and execute strategies to improve upon the material cost and assembly time of new and existing products. This individual will also manage the individuals on the sustaining engineering team as well as the interaction with outside resources to complete projects most effectively.
What Will You Do?
Effectively manage sustaining engineering team members to complete projects within the expected goals and timeline.
Use DFM, DFA, and DFSS tools to support the development of robust product designs that are simple to use. Support DFX adoption within organization.
Manage sustaining activities within Pinnacle to achieve or exceed cost savings and assembly time reductions.
Manage the interactions between offshore resources and internal resources to expedite project deliverables.
Communicate project requirements to internal and external stakeholders. Must be able to collaborate effectively with product management, manufacturing, and purchasing teams as well as suppliers and certification agencies to execute projects.
Assist in creating clear engineering documentation including 3D assemblies, drawings, Engineering Change Orders, and technical reports as needed to support product releases and sustaining evaluations.
Demonstrate a deep knowledge of product domain and support knowledge sharing across the company.
Support innovation and promote positive change within the organization.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and ensure alignment with product specification and validation.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
7-10 years relevant work experience.
Lighting Industry experience strongly desired but not required.
Proficient in 3D CAD, Solidworks preferred, and mechanical design; proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
Team player mentality with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of project management and stage gate methodologies.
Working knowledge of DFMA and DFSS.
