Position Summary

At Jacobs our Buildings Structural Engineers are responsible for the structural design for new structures as well as existing structural upgrades.

  • Perform structural computations and analysis of concrete, steel, masonry and timber structures.

  • Produce drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and other project deliverables while working with other disciplines within the project team.

  • Attend meetings with clients and promote positive client contact with current or prospective clients.

  • Participate as a team member, contributing ideas and possible solutions, and leading on issues where appropriate.

  • Working experience with Architectural and MEP disciplines on various building projects.

  • Experience in performing projects independently to successfully deliver the projects on-time and within the assigned budgets. Coordinate with other offices to share resources to complete work as required. Coordinate with senior engineering staff for project planning and quality reviews.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering required, with emphasis in Structures

  • Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD.

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in the analysis and design of building structures required.

  • Professional Engineering (PE) registration required.

  • Excellent working knowledge of all building codes and standards such as IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE-7, NDS

  • Excellent working knowledge of industry structural engineering software such as SAP, ETABS, SAFE, RAM, RISA 3D, MathCad, Enercalc, etc.

  • MS degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.

  • SE is preferred.
