You have extensive practical knowledge of building and running various types of platforms and integrating technologies. Above all, you have a customer-focused mindset and are a hands-on technical expert to support the sales activities in your region .

Our Tanzu Emerging Solution Engineering team focuses on the newest opensource and VMware technology in a pre-sales capacity.

Required Skills / Experiences

  • Experience as a hands-on infrastructure architect ideally in a customer-facing capacity

  • Understanding of cloud-native design principles and best practices

  • Understanding of agile software delivery principles

  • Pays attention to software development/architecture trends and best practices

  • Pays attention to cloud infrastructure trends and best practices

  • Enthusiastic, self-starter with a charismatic personality

  • Ability to see and present 'the big picture' and offer solutions to make it better

  • Must be effective in working both independently and in a team setting

  • Excellent communication/presentation skills

  • Ability to travel up to 50% regionally (Post COVID restrictions)

Desired Skills / Experiences - Infrastructure Architecture

  • Prior technical pre-sales experience

  • Experience in qualifying sales opportunities

  • Prior experience presenting to ITOPs technology leaders

  • Experience running succesful Proof of Concept/Proof of Value initiatives

  • Experience with continuous integration/deployment technologies such as Jenkins, ArgoCD, Spinnaker, Artifactory, and Github/Gitlab

  • Experience in IT operations with one or more of the following: vSphere, AWS, GCP, Azure or OpenStack

  • Experience in advanced software-defined networking technologies such as Calico, Flannel, NSX, and Open vSwitch.

  • Experience in service mesh technologies such as Istio and Envoy.

  • Experience in infrastructure automation technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef and Puppet

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, related field or equivalent experience

  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer certification or Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation( ) is a plus
