Atara Biotherapeutics, Inc. Sr. Scientist/Principal Scientist, Process Science in Denver, Colorado
This position will work with the Technical Operations teams to develop and characterize cell therapy manufacturing processes and products, focusing on allogeneic CAR-T cells. The Sr. Scientist/Principal Scientist, Process Development will be responsible for the process development of allogeneic CAR-T cells to enable clinical trials. Under minimal supervision, you will be expected to design and perform experiments, organize and carefully document results, analyze and interoperate results, and communicate findings. The Principal Scientist will lead a small group of scientist and Research Associates.

Location: Aurora, CO
Lead the development of manufacturing processes for allogeneic CAR-T cells using suspension bioreactor technologies
Independently designs and executes studies to facilitate development of allogeneic CAR-T processes and enabling clinical trials.
Develops and leads strong collaborative relationships with internal and external groups.
Incorporate bioreactor platforms and other scalable technologies
Lead tech transfer activities to manufacture
Assist in the development of batch production records, standard operating procedures, analytical test methods, and analytical sampling plans
Mentors a group of diverse scientists and research associates to facilitate

Education and Experience:
PhD. in Immunology, Engineering science, or Cancer biology science with 6+ years of related industry experience.
Experience with the generation and evaluation of human CAR-T therapies; Industry experience in adoptive T cell, CAR-T, or TCR therapeutics.
Experience with process characterization, scale-up and/or technology transfer preferred
Familiarity with development and /or commercialization of cell-based therapeutics
Basic understanding of cGMP requirements
Experience using Design of Experiment (DOE)
Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
