How will you make an impact?
As a Sr. Scientific Applications Manager for the Life Sciences Solutions Group, you will be a key member of the Thermo Fisher Scientific market development team. In this role you will act as a liaison between the Flow Cytometry business group and the scientific/research/medical community. This position is field based with global responsibilities.
What will you do?
Work with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) in the field of Flow Cytometry to enhance the market position of Thermo Fisher
Create and manage scientific advisory boards for flow cytometry business. Advisory boards would be tasked with giving feedback to business center with respect to future product development in instrumentation, reagents, software and automation. This includes thought leaders from the flow cytometry community in university research, clinical, biopharma, CRO's and pharmaceutical companies
Work with Global Marketing to hold user group meetings in key geographical locations
Assist in generating white papers and publications to assist commercial operations and improve Thermo image and market position. Of particular focus would highlighting studies that showcase the entire suite of product offerings (Studies that include, Thermo Fisher reagents, Attune, Bigfoot and other flow and Thermo product offerings.
Identify KOLs to participate in tradeshows, generate posters and presentations
Collaborate with Scientific Affairs, Flow Cytometry Marketing and Development to extend portfolio of product offerings
Facilitate and provide oversight of scientific studies conducted in the field.
Establish strong, collaborative relationships with KOL's to identify potential applications and secure access to flow cytometry technology. Using KOL's to help build Thermo Flow Cytometry "Centers of Excellence". These would be labs that have a large amount of Thermo flow products and are leaders in specific research areas. These may be used as demo labs in the field. As well as showcase labs for various research or therapeutic areas. ie cell therapy focus, or stem cell focus etc.
Assist commercial operations with key customer accounts and the business center with VIP customers. Team selling conduit for large customers who need leadership engagement to secure business for Thermo Fisher.
How will you get here?
Bachelor's degree in Scientific or Marketing Discipline Required, Masters or PhD Preferred.
15+ years' experience with Flow Cytometry instrumentation
Previous sales experience selling flow cytometry equipment and/or reagents
10+ years in a product management role and/or commercial sales and support including experience developing strategy and successfully implementing marketing plans in a scientific environment
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :
Strong business acumen and customer focus
Strong oral and written communication skills
Highly self-motivated leader with ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
Ability to plan, execute and measure with a strong sense of urgency to drive results.
Success in working and driving business in a matrix environment
Experience writing technical scientific content with ability to develop messaging for sales and customer facing materials.
Ability to travel overnight travel up to 50% of the time (Post COVID determination)
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of CRM systems like SFDC
Can-do attitude with exceptional motivation to win sales, push the market forward and take share from competitors
