Sales Engineer (Solutions Consultant)Appian provides a low-code development platform that accelerates the creationof high-impact business applications. Many of the world's largestorganizations use Appian applications to improve customer experience,achieve operational excellence, and simplify global risk management andcompliance.As a Sales Engineer, you will actively drive and manage the technologyevaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the salesteam as the key technical adviser and product advocate. Using technicalcreativity and business acumen, you will illustrate the value thatAppian's platform can provide. You must be able to engage and articulateproduct positioning to both business and technical users in competitivescenarios. You will also rapidly identify all technical issues of assignedaccounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of thesales process.What you'll be doing...Partner with Account Executives to achieve defined sales goalsLead efforts to ensure the delivery of all technical resources into the salescampaignsAssist in the production of RFPs and other proposals to clientsPropose technical and creative business solutions in support of salesactivitiesDesign and deliver high quality technical Proof of Concepts for prospectivecustomersPresent technical and business aspects of proposed solutions to a C-LevelaudienceRepresent Appian's product to customers and at field events such asconferences, summits, seminars, etc.Assist with the radiation strategy within the target accounts by buildingcustomer relationshipsManage target accounts that may span multiple Account ExecutivesWork with colleagues across the organization to receive the support needed toaccomplish the technical goalsPreferred Skills:Bachelor's degree in a related field5+ years as a successful Pre-Sales Engineer OR 5+ years in a ProfessionalServices/Consulting role that is client facing and involves sales scenarios- Able to do custom POCs and demosAbility to strategically problem solve by thinking outside of the box isrequired dailyTechnical depth to respond to all functional and technical elements ofRFIs/RFPsProven success conveying customer requirements to Product Management teamsFamiliarity with Business Process Management Platforms, Low CodePlatforms, or Application Development Platforms is a plusRecent experience programming within a modern web or enterprise developmentsystemsFamiliarity in production environments (application servers, webservers, databases)Strong verbal and written communication skills, customer interaction,requirements analysis, presentations, and system designWilling to travel 40-50% to customer locations throughout the assigned regionAbout Us:Appian helps organizations build apps and workflows rapidly, with a low-codeautomation platform.
