This position is accountable for the execution of Dawn's global Safetystrategy aligned to the following seven global functions: Manufacturing,Distribution, Environmental Control, Engineering, Purchasing,Logistics, and Quality, to bring about a seamless Supply Chain within DawnFoods. The development of a metrics for Safety to measure adherence andsuccess in implementation of the global Safety strategy is critical to thisposition. The goal for this person is to optimize Dawn's commitment toservicing our customers with a consistently high standard product acrossgeographic areas in the safest manner possible, while contributing tooverall customer service and satisfaction. This position is also accountablefor ensuring that Dawn maximizes Safety opportunities throughout the U.S.,both internally and externally, and leverages best practices and capitalizeson cross-border and cross-functional knowledge worldwide. The establishment ofKPI's / PI's and CSF's and ongoing measurement and support for allglobal sites both Distribution and Manufacturing is essential.ResponsibilitiesParticipates as a supporting member of the Dawn Safety Team.Accountable for creating an internal environment "where people feelvalued" and ensure that all Team Members have a clean, safe and healthyenvironment.Drives improvement in the business and contributes to the overall goals andleadership of Dawn.Is one of the key thought leaders contributing to Dawn's Operationsstrategic planning process. Assists in the development and execution of aGlobal Safety Strategy, which is consistent with Dawn's overall goals andobjectives.Ensures the Safety complies and meets all legal, ethical and communitystandards.Demonstrates "Dawn Values." Acts as an ambassador for the company withinthe industry and the community.Assists with the coordination of worldwide "Best Practices" andstandardization within the U.S. manufacturing and bakery arena.Implements Leading Edge Safety Principles with a focus on continuousimprovement.Emphasis on Safety and cost reductions while improving service to ourcustomers.Environmental, ergonomic, and occupational safety experience - Experience with Safety Management System - Training experience in LOTO and accident prevention.Coordinates U.S. Safety efforts to reduce operating costs.Culturally adept.Extensive travel.QualificationsSuitable Bachelor's degree in related disciplineMasters in a related discipline is highly desirable.At least 5 years of relevant experienceAt least 2-3 years' experience in a leadership role in SafetyMinimum 5-7 years' experience in the food industryDirect experience in Safety planning and executionProven success in a Team environment and leadership in change managementOSHA KnowledgeHere at Dawn, our crisis management team is meeting regularly to assess ourresponse to COVID-19.
