They include:custom-engineered curtain wall and window wall, architectural windows,storefront systems, doors, skylights and architectural glass.Job SummaryResponsible for managing the facilitys overall safety performance andcompliance through various safety, health, and training activities.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure full compliance with all federal, state, local, and companysafety regulations.Monitor facility and processes for adherence to OSHA guidelines and theelimination of industrial incidents.Work closely with the local HR Representative, Corporate EH&S staff andinsurance company to manage all workers compensation claims.Maintain companys incident database and ensure monthly safety audit iscompleted.Maintain all other safety related records such as waste records in accordancewith all federal, state, local, and company requirements.Coordinate outside services such as alarm, fire, and safety supplies.Ensure all safety binders, including the SDS binder, are kept up to dateand readable.Oversee, evaluate, and continuously improve the facilitys safety programto achieve and maintain a zero-harm goal.Randomly observe department audits and GEMBA walks to assure they areconducted with rigor and intensity.Research and implement new safety activities to keep the safety programcurrent and effective.Ensure all new hire and annual safety training are completed and documented inthe database.Manage and conduct all employee safety orientations, certifications,industrial hygiene testing, classroom training, and practical hands-onplant floor training.Manage and conduct outside contractor training and emergency action plantraining.Chair safety committee and oversee plant safety project work teams.Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks, and adherence toall safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job.Skills, Knowledge, and Ability RequirementsTo be considered for the Safety Manager position, the following conditionsmust be met:Bachelor degree in Safety & Health field or relevant work experienceequivalent to a degree.Minimum 2 years safety experience in a manufacturing environmentIn-depth understanding of all current government safety regulations (i.e.,OSHA), workers compensation, emergency response planning &procedures, first aid, CPR, ergonomics and industrial hygiene.Strong organizational skills.Ability to work independently and prioritize work and deliveries.Good verbal and written communications skills and math aptitude.Previous computer experience recommended.EquipmentPersonal desktop computers, fax machine, copy machine, calculator,writing instruments, telephone, and various printers.Issued safety equipmentSafetyHazards - Exposure to chemicals/fumes, pinch points, exposure toexcessive noise, strain/sprain, laceration/puncture, particulateexposure, contusion, temperature extremes, slipping, burns, shock,loss of limbControls - Personal protective equipment, safety training, written procedures.Safety Equipment Hard hat, back belt, safety glasses, steel toeshoes/boots, cut resistant gloves, cut resistant outerwear, otherequipment as dictated by the specific department.Work EnvironmentNoise levels in the work environment can be moderate to high.The plant facility is subject to the same general climate conditions of theregion (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).Chemicals, dust, pollen and other typical airborne particulate matter arepresent within the atmosphere of the production floor and may create someodors in the plant.
