General SummaryAssists the Quality Director to monitor and maintain the accreditation andcredibility of the clinical laboratories based on industry standards.Collaborates with laboratories and facilitates efforts of all laboratorydepartments to remain in constant compliance with all regulatory agencyrequirements. Monitors balanced scorecard metrics.Essential Responsibilities1. Help to ensure laboratory compliance by serving the laboratories as aresource regarding Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA'88) regulations, CAP accreditation standards, and various stateaccreditation standards, CDC guidelines and permits, licenses for alllabs, and audit to assure all testing facilities/personnel haveappropriate licensure and accreditation as deemed by federal, state, and local2. Perform quality audits. Document findings, review responses, andensure that corrective action is implemented when non-conformances are found.3. Lead improvement activities and initiatives for laboratories andimplement improvements via partnerships and collaborations.4. Provide input into validation plans and validation activities for newmethods. Review and approve validation documents.5. Facilitate quality improvement teams to achieve set objectives and worktowards continuous improvement.6. Helps to establish and promote a highly reliable and accountable safetyculture.7. Monitor processes for quality control of analytic methods and verifiesthat all tests are monitored through an appropriate proficiency-testingprogram as required.8. Facilitate prompt and complete reporting of occurrences and/or seriousquality issues and assure effective corrective action.9. Facilitate activities required for occurrence closure.10. Assist with document authoring, revisions, and document controlactivities.11. Lead transitions, where required, to improved systematic processesfor quality management systems.12. Assist with quality input and review of verification and validationactivities.13. Assist Quality Director in developing appropriate performance andquality reports.14. Contribute to Quality meetings with required participation by all areashaving an impact on pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phasesof testing.15.
