Apex is seeking a Project Manager to manage our stormwater BMP maintenance and repair staff and projects for our Denver, CO location. This group includes field maintenance and construction crews. In this position, the Project Manager will mentor and guide field staff in stormwater BMP inspection and repair, erosion control, construction projects, and other water quality projects. The ideal candidate will have a degree and/or extensive field and hands-on experience to lead and develop our team.

Like every member of the Apex Team, your role as Project Manager is key to the company's success. While responsibilities of the Project Manager will vary day to day, in general you will often:

  • Lead efforts to grow our stormwater business.

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of stormwater projects.

  • Manage and grow stormwater field maintenance and repair/construction crews.

  • Actively source for new business in stormwater, restoration, and stormwater construction opportunities.

  • Ensure safe performance of project work.

  • Write and review technical reports and proposals.

  • Ability to estimate projects from construction plans; generate takeoff quantities

  • Estimate fixed price projects

  • Construction permitting

  • Construction management

  • Client coordination and development.

  • Hire and manage subcontractors.

  • Mentor and train operational staff and ensure quality work product.

Minimum Requirements

Great minds think alike! Now that we understand each other, let's sort through the minimum qualifications for this position:

  • BA/BS in Science/Engineering or other related field; and/or, in lieu of a degree, extensive field and hands-on experience. Emphasis on water/stormwater management.

  • 8+ years of solid technical experience.

  • Good safety record and understanding of safe work practices.

  • Ability to mentor and train staff.

  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.

  • Excellent technical communication skills and strong attention to detail.
