Golder Associates Project Hydrogeologist in Denver, Colorado

Our Mine Water division has an immediate opening for a Hydrogeologist in our Denver, Colorado Office with a minimum of 7 years of experience. This individual will provide field and office support for environmental investigations and operational water management for the mining sector.

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Performing and leading field work and field data collection, data interpretation and evaluation, and preparation of technical reports

  • Providing technical expertise and/or support for geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, hydrogeologic testing, geologic and hydrogeologic visualization, analytical and numerical groundwater flow modeling, development of conceptual site models.

  • Project management and regulatory agency communications, with responsibilities appropriate to the level of experience of the individual

  • Proposal writing and client interactions, depending on the needs

Job Requirements

The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • A strong academic background in hydrogeology, at least a Master’s Degree in environmental science/hydrogeology, geology, geosciences or similar.

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience; with minimum 4 years in consulting practice.

  • Demonstrable academic or consulting experience in hydrogeologic data collection, groundwater sampling, hydrogeologic testing and analysis, and numerical groundwater flow modeling.

  • Proven experience and success working in the mining industry, in support of mining development and/or mine operations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with willingness to work as part of a group.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MODFLOW, etc.

  • Willing to operate and maintain field testing and monitoring equipment, and willing to travel

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Pass a physical examination as a condition of employment

Desired Skills:

  • Mechanical experience

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training
