CONMED Corporation Principal Electrical Engineer in Denver, Colorado

The Principal Electrical Engineer will be responsible for performing complexelectrical design and analysis to support research and development of medicaldevices for the Advanced Surgical business unit at CONMED. The PrincipalEngineer leads the Discovery and Feasibility phases, design activities,technical reviews, and reports design progress. Assignments are broad innature, requiring appreciable initiative, originality, ingenuity andexcellent problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have excellentanalytical skills, advanced electrical engineering experience and a goodunderstanding of medical devices. The mission of the Principal Engineer is tobe the technical lead for solving the most complex electrical problems and allactivities in support of the release of new products to production.Duties and Responsibilities:Research design options and perform experiments to determine designfeasibility or solutions for complex electro-mechanical and software-basedsystems.Provide leadership in the design and development of microprocessor basedelectronic systems for new productsConstruct prototypes; evaluate and document their performance; identifypossible improvementsDesign circuits containing microprocessors, memory devices, A/Dconverters, D/A converters, analog circuits, programmable logic, RFamplifiers and high frequency power supplies.Create and implement suitable tests including DOE's to verify designs meetelectrical requirementsCreate schematics, engineering drawings, test plans, and technical reportsServe as a technical leader for major product development projects or multiplesimultaneous projects. Responsible for ensuring that design activities arecoordinated per the project needs. Establish and maintain project schedules.Assist in the creation and release of Product Requirements, DesignSpecifications, and Design Descriptions for assigned designs, applicablestandards and procedures. Evaluate product non-conformances and recommenddesign modifications.Play a lead role in electronic design reviewsMentor other engineers and technicians.Requirements:B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
