We are currently seeking an Operations Manager - Commissioning to join our team as a member of our growing Technical Services Mountains division.

You're great at:

People Management

  • Set performance goals and conduct performance evaluations for the commissioning team

  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and motivation to assigned staff as required.

  • Support hiring and team building as part of a growing business

  • Develop project staffing plans and labor forecasting

  • Direct the development and implementation of training programs for the Commissioning Team.

Customer Service

  • Provide a single point of contact for clients regarding commissioning project timelines and accountability for key/strategic accounts.

  • Collaborate on client presentations for commissioning projects.

  • Continue relationship with client to propose new phases of work and gain new contracts

  • Establish a network of relationships with McKinstry business units and engage in regular communication and coordination with business unit commissioning leaders

Project Development

  • Develop, manage, and implement New Construction commissioning procedures for McKinstry and external customers.

  • Assist with issue resolution for any project when deemed appropriate.

  • Provide and/or review budgets and scopes for all commissioning projects.

Business Development

  • Provide operational and sales support to the development of new business opportunities and be integral in the successful delivery of these projects.

  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts for current and future commissioning projects

  • Support the sales team by attending meetings, presentations, or providing commissioning information/examples when requested.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for McKinstry’s Business Development team for all Commissioning related sales pursuits. Lead the technical response and budget development for all opportunities with the support of the broader Cx team.

What we would like to see from you:

  • Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Commissioning Program Manager.

  • Minimum four (4) years of management experience required.

  • BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management or equivalent field of study required, or equivalent work experience required.

  • Ten (10) years of experience in commissioning services required, fifteen (15) years of industry experience preferred.

  • Knowledge and proficiency in BCA, ACG, NEBB, PECI, and/or ASHRAE commissioning procedures required.

  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building automation systems is required.

  • Ability to read and understand construction documents (drawings, specifications, etc.) required.

  • PE registration strongly preferred.

  • BCA CCP or ACG CxA registration strongly preferred.

  • LEED AP, CEM professional designations are preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams required.

  • Knowledge of building HVAC mechanical systems, BAS systems, energy analysis, and performance contracting preferred.
