Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions has an opportunity for anOn-Call Entry-Level Environmental Geologist/Scientist to work on anon-call, as needed basis with our Denver, CO team with the potential forfulltime employment based on team backlog and performance. Hours will varydepending on project needs. Must be highly motivated and a positive teamplayer. Must be willing to perform tasks and activities outside of area ofexpertise with guidance from senior staff.Key Responsibilities The position is approximately 70% field work and 30% office work on avariety of projects including industrial, state and federal sites Field activities include flora and fauna surveys, logging soil borings,oversight of groundwater monitoring well installations and collecting soil,groundwater, soil vapor, air, surface water and sediment samples as wellas documenting field activities Office activities include analysis and interpretation of analytical resultsand the preparation of summary reports, under the supervision of a Senior orAssociate Geologist, Hydrogeologist, or Biologist as appropriate Will travel to project sites in Colorado and surrounding states; Up to50% overnight travel Will be routinely lifting equipment and carrying coolers of laboratorysamples; It is anticipated that these materials can weigh up to 40 poundsSkills / QualificationsBasic/Required Qualifications BS in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related technical field 1 to 3 years + environmental experience Must be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong computer skills for database work using MS Access and proficiency inMS Office Previous experience setting up and running groundwater flow models andusing GIS for processing model inputs and outputs Ability to manage subcontractors for drilling and geophysical logging Flexible to work outside normal business hours as required; May includeweekend and nighttime work Willingness to travel to project sites Colorado and surrounding states;Up to 50% overnight travel Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have asatisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving(MVR) poliPreferred Qualifications OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification MSHA 24-hour New Miner Training First Aid & CPR certificationsPhysical Demands Field activities may require working in unfavorable weather conditions Will lift equipment and carry laboratory samples which requires the abilityto lift 40 poundsCompany OverviewWood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering andtechnical services to energy and industrial markets.
