In addition to a highly competitivebenefits package, we offer mentor and coaching programs to help ouremployees develop and grow their careers, along with opportunities forvolunteering and community involvement.SummaryThe person selected for this position will work on geotechnical engineeringprojects for mine tailings storage facilities, coal combustion residualstorage facilities, and other large-scale industrial solid-waste facilities.Projects also entail completing other traditional geotechnical and civilanalysis and design work related to slope stability, seepage, earthretention, and dams. Responsibilities include performing geotechnicalcomputer modeling; specifying and interpreting soil and rockinvestigations, including drilling and cone penetrometer testing;overseeing on-site and in-laboratory material testing; and installinginstrumentation. Project work also involves completing geotechnical and civilaspects of alternatives analyses and feasibility studies, as well aspreparing plans and specifications, reports, and cost estimates. Inaddition, client management, business development, project management,mentoring and coaching, project planning and scheduling, and workloadestimating are part of this role. It requires periodic out-of-townassignments. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil engineering with a geotechnical emphasis10 years of traditional geotechnical engineering work experienceProfessional Engineer (PE) certificationStrong geotechnical analysis and design skillsDemonstrated flexibility and willingness to modify personal schedule asrequired to meet project deadlines and/or client needsProven project management skillsWillingness and ability to travel to support project needsAbility to lift and carry equipment weighing 30 pounds or moreComputer skills including word processing and spreadsheet developmentStrong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsAbility to work cooperatively in a project team environment that encouragesself-initiativeLegal authorization to work in the United States without the need forsponsorshipAcceptable driving recordPreferred QualificationsGraduate degree in geotechnical engineering with additional coursework orresearch related to mine tailings and tailings storage facilities, damengineering, seepage and slope stability, and/or advanced soil mechanics15+ years of geotechnical design experienceTraining or work experience in engineering of tailings storage facilities orother dam facilitiesTraining or work experience in field work such as construction observation,subsurface investigations, in-situ testing, instrumentationinstallation, surveying, materials testing, or facility inspectionsTask management skillsInterest in mining engineering, power generation facilities, and fuelsindustriesWork experience with geotechnical analysis and geotechnical computer modelingor other related software (FLAC, Plaxis, midas GTS NX, SoilVision,and/or GeoStudio)NOTE: Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature roughterrain typical of construction sites and must be able to enter and workwithin facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery,and other conditions typical of industrial fa
