Role: Field Service Engineer
Location: Any Location Near an Airport. Preferred Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Tennessee, Utah, Mississippi, Alabama, or Florida.

To support and guide our OEM and Utility customers in successfully applying, installing and using test and measurement products for monitoring the condition of medium-high voltage rotating machines. Employees will not be traveling for the first 6 months due to extensive training and COVID restrictions. After the 6-month training period, expect travel to be around 70%.
Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your competencies:
Collect and analyze data at customer sites.
Analyzing, Troubleshooting and Repairing rotating machines, turbo generators, condition monitoring equipment, sensors, and other power/utility related equipment.
Supervise and perform equipment installations.
Commission continuous monitoring instrument systems
Provide engineering solutions for equipment installation to customers.
Conduct user training to customer engineers.
Training and support of new field service employees.
Provide technical support to customers and other departments.
Writing assessment and data analysis reports.
Significant travel (70%)
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Computer Engineering or other related discipline is required. Additional experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
At least 5 years of Engineering experience with a focus in the Utilities and Power industry.
Must have experience in several of the following: rotating machines, medium-high voltage, partial discharge, condition monitoring, generators, transformers, switchgears, electrical insulation and/or turbo generators
Must have at least 3+ years of experience in the Utilities industry or working for an OEM that develops products for utilities customers.
Familiarity with using small hand tools and electronic test equipment, oscilloscopes etc.
Design of electrical rotating machines and professional engineering qualifications is a plus.
Above-average proficiency in using Microsoft word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, preferably with basic knowledge on computer networking
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey detailed instructions to service personnel and clients.
Must be capable of preparing detailed written reports and giving direction, instruction and training to staff and clients on the application and installation of Iris products.
Strong inter-personal skills are required, respect for different cultures and code of conduct at customer premises, with emphasis on following directions relating to personnel safety.
Good manual dexterity, no acrophobia, no claustrophobia and ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
