Environmental Scientist - Denver, COWestwood Professional Services, Inc.Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist/ Wetland Biologist to join our team in our Denver, CO office. Westwoodhas a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated toproviding high-level professional services to our clients. The successfulcandidate's primary role will be to provide field services to delineatewetlands, prepare reports and support regulatory approvals for landdevelopment and renewable energy projects. Westwood has a highly experiencedand dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professionalservices to our clients and is the leading wetland delineation provider in theregion. In addition to this primary wetland delineator role, the preferredcandidate will have experience with property transfer due diligence includingPhase I Environmental Site Assessments.Duties and Responsibilities:Perform initial site research such as air-photo review, water resourcemapping and soils researchConduct routine wetland field delineationsReport preparationCoordinate and participate in regulatory approval meetingsMonitoring approval status on multiple projectsPrepare Phase I Environmental Site AssessmentsConduct wildlife habitat assessments and prepare environmental assessmentreports Required ExperienceDegree in environmental science, biology or related natural sciences fieldwith 1-3 years of wetland delineation experienceTechnical proficiency in wetland delineation and an understanding of state andfederal regulationFamiliar with US Army Corps of Engineers wetland delineation manual regionalsupplements and the Minnesota Wetland Conservation ActProficient with regional plant identificationAbility to secure a professional wetland scientist and/or the Minnesotacertified wetland delineator registration within one year is desiredExperience with GPS equipmentProficient at technical report preparation and writingWillingness to work outdoors for long periods in varying weather conditionsFor Preferred Consideration (Not Required):Bachelor's Degree in in environmental science, soil science, biology,botany, or related natural sciences fieldExperience with tree identificationExperience with avian surveys including identification by sight and soundProficiency with and ArcGISAbout Westwood Professional Services, Inc.
