Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

POWER Engineers is seeking a Drafter to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Denver office located in Lakewood, Colorado. Responsibilities

  • The position entails drafting and design opportunities on substation projects that include physical layout drawings as well as schematics and wiring diagrams.

Required Education/Experience

  • Associates degree in drafting (or equivalent technical degree).

  • Experience using AutoCAD 2000 and/or newer versions preferably in an engineering work environment.

  • The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members.

  • Candidates must live within commuting distance of our office located in Lakewood, Colorado.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.

Desired Education/Experience

  • 1+ year drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in an engineering work environment.

  • Experience with CAD Overlay and MicroStation IRAS B.

  • Knowledge of substation electrical schematics and wiring diagrams is beneficial.

  • Good background in mathematics.

  • Experience working with scaled drawings.

  • Reliable self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks.
