Electrical Graduate Engineer - Denver, COWestwood Professional Services, Inc.Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical GraduateEngineer to join our team in our Denver, CO office. Westwood has a highlyexperienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-levelprofessional services to our clients. For this position, we are seeking twocandidates who will be able to start in January and/or May.Duties and Responsibilities:Design electrical engineering plans for large scale commercial and utilitywind, solar, and energy storage projects across the United States.Responsible for working with electrical designers to produce engineeringconstruction plans using AutoCAD.Responsible for producing power system study reports to document undergroundcable sizing and describe the behavior of the plant through load flow, shortcircuit, protection coordination, arc flash, and similar steady-stateanalysis.Coordinate with design team disciplines including civil engineers,geotechnical engineers, and is surveyors.Create wiring/cable schedules and perform quantity takeoffs.Maintain strong awareness and knowledge of company design standards. Required ExperienceBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on or courseworkin power systems and energy conversion.Experience and knowledge of basic electrical design concepts for powergeneration.Basic knowledge of power systems engineering philosophy, including real andreactive power flows, impedance, synchronous and asynchronousgenerators, and transformers.Strong written and verbal communications skills.Must have a strong work ethic along with a positive attitude.Must be a supportive team member, able to work in a collaborative environment.Must be self-motivated with an ability to balance multiple projects undertight deadlines.Must be capable of working effectively with minimal supervision, drivingforward towards goals without micromanagement, and stop to ask questionswhen necessary.Preferred Consideration (Not Required):Working knowledge and ability to read construction drawings andspecifications.Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D.Experience with wind, solar, or energy storage facility engineering.Proficiency with CYMCAP or ETAP for underground cable thermal ampacityevaluation.Proficiency with ETAP, SKM Power*Tools, PSSE, DIgSILENT PowerFactory,CYME, or similar electrical power systems modeling software.Proficiency with WinIGS or CDEGS grounding analysis tools.About Westwood Professional Services, Inc.
