Our Global Facilities practice is looking for a Staff Electrical Engineer in our Denver office to work on projects in the manufacturing, on-site power and thermal energy production, and food and consumer products industries. Other types of projects could include universities, manufacturing facilities, data centers, master planning, commercial buildings, and federal and aviation facilities. The Staff Electrical Engineer would be responsible for designing and specifying the electrical systems that include low- and medium-voltage power, lighting, grounding, voice/data communications, lightning protection, emergency power systems, security systems, and CCTV systems. Candidate will lead or assist in the execution of complex projects requiring the use of advanced techniques for the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and studies from inception to completion. The candidate will collaborate with multi-disciplined teams across multiple offices. The position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of solving technical problems and balancing multi-project workloads. Others duties as required.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Electrical lead on multi-discipline projects

  • Providing leadership, guidance, instruction, and mentoring less experienced team members

  • Coordinating project tasks, developing a scope of work, preparing conceptual designs, and executing final designs

  • Estimating project design and construction man-hours, budgets, and schedules

  • Collaborating with construction management teams on design-build projects

  • Travel for client coordination meetings and construction observations

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical or architectural engineering from accredited program. Minimum 3 years related experience (completion of Masters degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be self-motivated, analytical, adaptive, and team orientated. Completion of the FE and with ambition to pursue PE. Previous consulting experience is preferred.

Other preferred skills include:

  • Understanding of the National Electrical Code

  • Knowledge of electrical design standards, principles, and other codes

  • Software experience using AutoCAD, Revit, SKM Power Tools, ETAP, DIALux or similar

  • Have previously performed short circuit and arc flash calculations as well as device coordination studies

  • Have previously performed lighting calculations
