David Evans And Associates Drainage Engineer-in-Training in Denver, Colorado
DEA is looking to add a Drainage Engineer-in-Training to our Denver, CObased Transportation Business Unit. The candidate will work in a project teamenvironment for public infrastructure improvement projects. Specific dutieswill include the design of storm sewers, ditches, culverts, grading,revetment design, best management practice design, stormwater managementplans, water quality analysis, 1D/2D hydraulic modeling of openchannels, and other general hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using avariety oJob duties include but are not limited to the following:Complete hydrologic studies and drainage analyses for a variety of projects(large and small)Understand and guide projects through the various regulatory agency permittingprocesses while ensuring proper standards and methodologies are being used onprojectsConduct field visits and site inspectionsPrepare report documentsPerform design and oversee preparation of plans and details using Microstationor AutoCADPerform analyses and prepare drainage reportsAssist in writing drainage and water quality sections for environmentaldocumentsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Civil EngineeringEngineer In Training (EIT) certification0-4 years of hydrology and/or hydraulics design experience related to openchannels and storm sewer systemsFamiliar with HEC-RASFamiliar with Microstation and/or AutoCAD softwarePreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of CDOT or Colorado local agency drainage design standardsHydrology or hydraulics design experience related to interstate and roadwayprojectsDemonstrated work experience with HEC-HMS, StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary,and/or HY8 software2D hydraulic modeling experienceTechnical writing/editing skillsExperience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation/InRoadsExperience with EPA-SWMMExperience with CUHP and/or Mile High Flood District projectsGIS experience related to design analysisBenefits:Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life InsurancePaid Time Off (PTO)/Holiday Pay401k and Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP)Flexible 9/80 (every other Friday off) work scheduleTransportation Jobs with DEAThe increasing complexities of modern transportation include growingdemands, aging infrastructure, rising costs, funding challenges, andenvironmental concerns.
