Collins is seeking a self-motivated Civil Project Engineer to be an integral part of our team in Denver, CO. The position will provide the opportunity to work on a varied mix of private and public sector land development design projects that include:
Schools
Retail
Offices
Industrial buildings
You will work with a team handling site design, land development, drainage and grading projects, and more. You will be working under the guidance of the Project Manager and/or Regional Manager. Continuing development and participation with technical committees will be encouraged and supported.
SUMMARY
The Civil Project Engineer performs higher-level assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard and moderate engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Supervisor screens assignments for unusual complexities and selects non-routine techniques and procedures to be applied. Has some responsibility for direction of Engineer and Engineering Technicians. Reports to a Project Engineer or Project Manager.
Position Description
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepares and designs plans for site grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and roadways for public and private sector clients. Contributes significantly to projects of all sizes.
Prepares hydrology, earthwork, and roadway plans and profile evaluations.
Assists in collecting due diligence information and preparing concept site engineering plans.
Contributes significantly to the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications.
Prepares submittals to State, Municipal, and other agencies.
Applies judgment on design decisions and selects from standard engineering techniques and alternatives.
Makes independent decisions within a general framework and work within agreed upon timelines and budgets.
Keeps Project Engineer and Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services.
Interacts with other departments and offices in order to coordinate work.
Is active in technical societies.
Responsible for small to moderately difficult projects from inception to completion.
Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
Has some communication with clients.
Directs and supervises the work of entry-level engineers, technicians, drafters and administrative staff.
Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year university, plus appropriate continuing education and a minimum of 2 years design experience.
Has proficient knowledge of hydrology, AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T) or Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Valid driver's license

Salary Range: $59,200-94,850/year. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based upon compensable factors, including: experience, education, and skill level.
