The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for providing technical support, staff supervision and business development for a variety of infrastructure related civil and hydraulic engineering projects.
The position offers world-case technical challenges, opportunities to mentor junior staff and the chance to engage in and manage projects across the country and the world.
Responsibility for execution of projects from conceptual planning phases through construction, including basis of design reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, bid packages, construction submittals, project closeout and regulatory compliance.
Technical oversight of design staff for development and infrastructure related projects for hydraulic equipment, water distribution, sanitary sewer collection, stormwater, roadway, street, bikeway, erosion control, grading, storm drainage, dams and reservoirs,
Ensure technical accuracy, standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects. Evaluate alternatives, resolve technical issues and interface with other disciplines
Perform engineering interpretation of specifications and drawings, recommending and documenting design modifications, and coordinating with the design team
Make independent assessment of engineering problems and recommend solutions to engineering discipline leads, resolve questions, plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost effective and compliant manner.
Achieve financial targets in relation to backlog, utilization, and invoicing
Maintain existing client relationships and help develop new client and project opportunities
Market potential clients, assist in the preparation of proposals, and attend interviews for project pursuits
Management and mentoring of technical staff
Perform other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
BS in Civil Engineering or related field
Minimum 8 years of experience in civil engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil Engineering, registered in Colorado – required
Strong communication, report writing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills
Strong interpersonal, managerial and financial skills to assist and lead multi-disciplined teams with the goal of successful, timely and profitable projects.
Competency in technical project execution and in writing and pricing scopes of work for proposals
Background will ideally include project work and process knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics, grading and drainage, streets, bridges and other structures. Pump- and system-curve analysis and dam experience a plus
Familiarity with relevant codes and industry standards especially regulations and permit related to the Colorado SEO, CDPHE and CDOT a plus
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrology and hydraulics programs, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) programs.
