Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:Conduct field investigations and analyze failures involving all types ofstructures and construction problems including residential, commercial andindustrial propertiesDetermine the cause, origin, and extent of structural failures, waterintrusions, construction defects and building system failures includingenvelope, roof, wall and glazingAssignments may include building envelope damage evaluations, structuralassessments, site evaluations, vibration analysis, construction siteaccidents and fire-damage evaluationsAnalyze failures in buildings and other infrastructure systems by conductingsite visits and applying engineering principles and practices in accordancewith codes and industry standardsConduct unbiased investigations for various types of clientsResponsible for retention and development of client relationsPrepare oral and written reports in layman's terms that document causes offailure, extent of damage, and recommended remediation.Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promoteself to client groupsAbility to support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legalproceedingsMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educationalworkshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personalnetworks; participating in professional societiesPosition Requirements:Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering requiredP. E.
