Aboveall, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe primary duty of the Transportation CAD Technician is to producedrawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations ofengineering designs for local Colorado transportation clients usingcomputer-aided drafting software. Responsibilities include maintaining clientspecific CAD standards and workspaces. May direct preparation of drawings byother CAD Technicians and work directly with engineers to develop road,drainage and traffic design drawings and quantities. May also train, mentorentry-level staff in detailing and transportation plan production. Requiresextensive knowledge of CAD, design development, construction documents,technical and engineering knowledge. May work with client or contractorrepreseQualificationsRequired QualificationsAssociates in Engineering technology / CAD preferred.2 years engineering design and CAD software experience preferred.Hands on experience using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.Applied knowledge with InRoads and/or Civil 3D software is preferred.CDOT experience and knowledge of CAD standards and workspaces preferredKnowledge of procedures for the production of design developments andconstruction documents.Ability to support multiple complex and time sensitive projects effectively.Ability to work independently under broad direction from Project Engineer orProject Manager on various design projects.Identify and resolve design issues effectively and efficiently.Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.Ability to interact, collaborate and communicate (verbally and written)with design and construction teams in a positive and proactive manner.Self-starter and willingness to take initiative.Why HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for; it's alsoabout what you do and how you do it.
