TITLE: ASSISTANT PARTS MANAGER
REPORTS TO: PARTS MANAGER
SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Parts Manager, performs parts acquisitions, small tool and equipment purchases, monitors and secures street stock inventories for operations, responsible for accounts payables, time and reporting entries, fuel and fluid ordering/inventory and assists with picking up/delivering parts from/to vendors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Effectively communicates and works with all stakeholders involved.
Secures and processes parts that are needed to support mechanics. Communicates to mechanics regarding status of parts. Ensure parts department is organized and clean.
Manages inventories of parts room regular stock consumables, operational street stock, safety equipment and fuel and fluids.
Utilizes computer to charge out repair parts, distribute time and workers orders to equipment and maintain/monitor equipment profit and loss statements.
Monitors communications and responds to off‐site requests for assistance.
Monitors and report all safety‐related issues as related to the shop area or any location where
maintenance is being performed.
Available to respond to emergency pick‐up and delivery after hours including nights, weekends.
OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES:
Performs other duties as assigned.
Conforms to applicable SOP’s and policies.
May be required to work overtime
Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work hours is essential.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Reads and follows simple to complicated instructions, on a daily basic
Reads and understands parts books and complicated manuals including various computer software.
Ability to prioritize multiple parts pick‐up and deliveries.
Pays attention to details and observe safety precautions.
Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions.
Appropriately records repairs and parts used.
Needs to be able to work independently and also as a team player.
Must be able to keep organized while managing several tasks at a given time.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED.
Must have Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Must pass pre‐employment drug screen, criminal background and MVR check.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in a heavy equipment repair shop and on customer’s sites.
May be subject to bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling and lifting such as retrieving and
replacing materials, supplies and inventory or while cleaning the shop.
May be subject to exposure to extreme weather conditions, hazardous chemicals and fumes
common to heavy equipment repair shops.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS UTILIZED:
Operates various shop vehicles and equipment (Forklift) on an as‐needed basis.
Operates computer, copy machine, telephone and all shop‐related equipment as
