Keller Foundations, LLC Shop Manager in Commerce City, Colorado
Keller is one of the leading Geotechnical Contractors in the United States working in earth retention, underpinning, piling, grouting and ground modification. Many of our projects are of short duration and involve unique equipment and logistical challenges.
We are looking for a results-driven Shop Manager to join our team in the Rocky Mountain Division (RMD). In this diverse position, you will be challenged with supervising the day-to-day operations within the Rocky Mountain Division shops, while maintaining detailed records, coordinating mechanic resources within the shops and field, and maintenance activity. This rewarding position will give you the opportunity to manage and interact closely with shop personnel as well as field and office management. This position is based in the Denver, CO Keller shop.
Responsibilities for this position will include:
Ensure the safety of all shop employees
Coordinate equipment and mechanic activities with RMD offices, field, and other shops
Effectively schedule, direct, and monitor all necessary maintenance and repair of internal and fleet equipment while maximizing effective utilization
Manage, schedule, and oversee all RMD shop and field mechanics
Locate, direct, ship and track internal & specialized external equipment for field operations
Provide technical information concerning equipment use & limitations
Perform trend analyses for various equipment performance and maintenance issues
Track equipment inventory, repairs, maintenance, modifications, rebuilds, & replacements in compliance with Corporate & manufacturer’s guidelines
Attend Division scheduling & operational meetings, and Mobe meetings (as available)
Organize and maintain 5S standards in shops and equipment for efficient and safe work
Evaluate all shop employees & recommend training plans as needed for career growth and development
Hire, train, and evaluate mechanics and shop personnel
Maintain company systems, policies and procedures as well as develop systems to ensure operational satisfaction that meets established budgets
Assure that each direct report understands the company objectives, policies, and procedures
Perform cost/benefit and lift cycle analysis on major equipment repair/rebuilds
Other duties as assigned by Operations Manger
Qualified candidates will have at least 5 years of experience in Shop Management, or similar, and must possess organizational skills and drive to lead a team of 5-10 mechanics. Must be able to comply and implement Keller safety plans and expectations, work independently, have exceptional attention to detail, demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and have excellent oral/written communication skills. Must have experience with heavy construction equipment. Solid basic computer skills and the ability to adapt to changing organizational and operations needs is necessary. Ability to learn and utilize software to track equipment is a must. Regional travel required. This position may require some overtime work including occasional weekend or evening work to meet critical deadlines.
