You will be primarily responsible for…

… life cycle condition assessments, energy consulting, commissioning/retro-commissioning, code compliance, and maintenance/operations consulting for multifamily, institutional, government, and commercial clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other job related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations.

  • Strong understanding of commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment including temperature control systems.

  • Conduct energy audits (ASHRAE level I and II).

  • Perform utility allowance studies, Statement of Energy Performance, and other benchmarking calculations for a mix of multifamily and commercial properties.

  • Perform Energy Modeling using TREAT / eQUEST / DesignBuilder / Wrightsoft / RemRate / Trane Trace, etc.

  • Create/Perform: commissioning plans, functional performance tests, pre-functional checklist for new and existing construction.

  • Familiarity or experience with; Green Physical Needs Assessments (GPNA), and HUD Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) projectsisa plus.

  • Conduct Facility Condition Assessments (FCA) and Physical Needs assessments (PNA) that have energy components.

  • Prepare written reports that accurately describe findings (ASTM standards).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a variety of audience including both technical and non-technical.

  • Ability to lead and independently solve problems. Collaborate with peers to improve the execution or our services.

  • Protects operations by keeping company information confidential.

  • Delivers outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to clients needs.

  • Demonstrates our company’s guiding principles in support of the company's strategic goals.

  • Follows all documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions applicable to the position and support of our company’s quality standards.

  • Maintains safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • May be required to work overtime with prior authorization from supervisor.

  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

  • Ability to work from remote location.

  • Climb ladders (including vertical ladders up multiple stories) and/or steep roof stairs (for each building assessed, at least once per on-site assessment)

  • Ability to travel, on average, approximately 50% of time to client sites across the U.S. via plane and/or drivingas determined based on the project location. Common patterns of travel include one day on-site followed by one day at home. The time at home is spent writing reports that communicate the field findings.Overnight stays away from home may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the energy/commissioning consulting field. Or non-degreed individual with commensurate level of experience and credentials.

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Required: Certified Energy Manager. Desired (One or more of the following): LEED Designation, ACG – Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA), AEE – Certified Building Commissioning Professional, NEBB - Commissioning Process Professional (CxPP), Building Performance Institute (BPI), Multifamily Building Analyst, or others.

Other Qualifications: Good verbal and written communications skills; good analytical skills and detail-oriented; ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; strong time management skills and ability to adhere to deadlines while maintaining accuracy; willing to challenge and ask questions; driven to achieve; ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

On-sites can occur up to one continuous week at a time, or typically at least one or two days per week. As a general expectation, for approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of the PM’s time, travel and on-site work is anticipated and expected.
