Serco Army Engineering Tech IV Cat 5e/6 T568B Live Anywhere Work / Travel for Serco in Colorado
As the, Engineering Technician IV, you will work on a team performing IT systems modernization at DoD facilities Worldwide. This work involves installing video surveillance cameras, desktop computing systems and peripherals, cabling (including termination) and rack-mounted equipment at U.S. Army installations world-wide.
Your position may be assisted by lower level technicians and have frequent contact with professionals and others within the establishment, and you will perform one or a combination of such typical duties as:
Develop and review designs by extracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data, applying conventional engineering practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings, and parts lists. (Examples of designs include detailed circuit diagrams; hardware fittings or test equipment involving a variety of mechanisms; conventional piping systems; and building site layouts).
Conduct tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures, preparing and operating equipment, recording data, measuring and recording problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level, and analyzes data and prepares test reports.
Apply methods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects, constructing experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements; conducts tests or experiments and redesigns as necessary and recording and evaluating data and reports findings. -Understand termination of Cat 5e/6 using T568B color code standard.
Pull and terminate CAT6 cabling using existing and/or installing cable pathways.
As the, Engineering Technician IV, you will perform non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity, using operational precedents that are not fully applicable, such assignments that are typically parts of broader assignments, are screened to eliminate unusual design problems and you will receive technical advice from supervisor or engineer and your work will be reviewed for technical adequacy (or conformity with instructions).
Requirements, Qualifications, Certifications
To be successful in this role, you will have to:
Be able to successfully undergo a pre-employment background check investigation and a drug screening
Be able to obtain access to all military installations and obtain a CAC (Common Access Card) and be granted NACI (National Security Check including finger-prints checks) within six (6)months.
This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Serco to staff it only with U.S. Citizens.
Be willing to travel up to 90% of the time, up to four months at a time.
Be able to travel extensively in the United States and Internationally and have the ability to obtain a valid United States passport.
Be able to terminate 568B standard.
Be willing to work more than 40 hours/week.
Be able to work in areas with drafts, noise, and temperature variation.
Be able to work in high heat spaces, climb dry dock stairs/ladders, work in kneeling position for layout of cable runs under false decking, lift up to 50 pounds with 80% of work requiring carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 40 pounds for majority of shift while being in a standing, crouching, or walking position.
Be able to work after normal duty hours depending on customer requirements.
Be able to pay attention to safety standards andfollow all OSHA and safety rules at all times.
Have a High School diploma and 8-10 years of related experience as an Engineering Technician
1 to 2 years of experience with traveling for work
Have a DoD Secret clearance
Have a current valid Unites States passport
