Job Description:

  • Track the Joint Space Operations Center (JSpOC) Mission System (JMS) capabilities (as specified in the Update to Information Systems Capability Development Document [IS-CDD] for the JMS [dated 21 Oct 15]) that were not delivered in JMS Increment 2.

  • Recommend to the Government how, when, and why these deferred capabilities should be included in future operational capability deliveries, to include post-JMS Increment 2 Initial Operational Capability (IOC) modifications through the AFSPC Configuration Review Board process, and the Enterprise Space Battle Management Command and Control (ESBMC2) program.

  • Based on government direction, draft addendum to the JMS IS-CDD for the configuration review board and the ESBMC2 program of record.

  • The addendum will contain but is not limited to updates to the current JMS IS-CDD CONOPS, threat, the Family of Systems and Systems of Systems Synchronization section, minimum levels of performance, and analytical references or rationale. It will include additions and subtractions for KPPs, KSAs, and OSA.

  • Provide subject matter expertise support to the ESBMC2 program of record as directed to ensure understanding, access to supporting materials, and facilitation of community coordination.

  • Provide technical review and draft comments to A5M for the S&T process.

  • Evaluate concepts and provide technical assessments of candidate S&T projects regarding potential advantages and limitations to A5M.

  • Leverage our corporate network among organizations supporting the AF process for S&T prioritization, including integral players in the CDWG/CDC, where prioritization for AF S&T occurs.

  • Prepare technical papers and briefings and prep A5M personnel for convincing presentations to secure funding for further development, prototypes and experimentation for the most promising concepts.

  • Provide technical review of existing A5M efforts and assess the existing S&T project plan.

  • As appropriate, update the plan with current guidance, schedule, and the engagement plan.

  • Clearly outline objectives for external technology engagements and provide a trip summary with an assessment of the capability under review.

  • Brief to A5M those technologies viewed as critical for successful C2 or satisfying an existing capability shortfall.

  • Depending on the size of the project or the timeline for implementation, recommend avenues for funding and programming (e.g. POM or Unfunded Request and SSDP, SMC/SY, or AFRL).


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science, 9 years’ experience in space C2 related programs and Air Force and National Security Space S&T.

Required Clearances:

  • TS/SCI.
