Kidde design engineering is currently looking for a Systems Test Engineer to support verification & validation specifications as a member of our systems engineering team within. This role has ownership of the ‘test’ side of the systems lifecycle ‘V’ model. Working with design engineers, you will use your technical skills to fully understand the product requirements, architecture, and detailed design to develop complete V&V specifications. This is a transverse role working with internal and external test labs, design architects, and product management to build a complete picture of product qualification. The position is in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO within a bicycle ride of Rampart Range and Garden of the Gods park.

Collaborate within the systems engineering team, design engineering, and internal/external labs to clearly define and specify product qualification plans and specifications.
Collaborate with architects, safety & compliance specialists, and test engineering to execute the systems ‘V’ on NPD and sustaining projects.
Work with lab test team to verify test results are recorded and detailed appropriately
Review, document, and validate agency requirements for each product to ensure that they meet all standards
1-3 years as a Systems Engineer or test engineer in safety-critical engineering
Strong technical background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience with DFMEA, SHA, and risk analysis in safety-critical products
Proactive and highly self-motivated; demonstrates critical thinking capabilities with strong attention to detail
Interpersonal skills to work with several departments, including product management, engineering, and quality teams
Experience with one or more requirements management tool suites
Ability to travel internationally
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. without restrictions
Bachelor’s Degree in an electrical, computer, or mechanical engineering (or related field) required.
MS in Systems Engineering is a significant plus.
