Position Purpose/Objective :

This is a mid-level position that assembles aircraft products. Under general supervision, performs routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Disassembles, cleans, inspects, and assembles components according to customer's specifications, airworthiness directives, applicable manufacturer's CMM guidelines and UTAS operating procedures

  • Uses test tools, measuring devices, hand tools, cleaning and bead blasting, and painting to complete customer required repair and upgrades

  • Creates complete and accurate paperwork to maintain internal, customer, and government required accountability and costing

  • Interfaces with other departments in product development and problem solving

  • Tracks and receives the required parts for product area

  • Takes an active role to ensure Environment, Health, and Safety standards and procedures are met and complied with

  • Looks for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace

  • Provides continuous improvement ideas in order to support lean and ACE initiatives

  • Ensure quality product utilizing UTAS quality procedures

  • Audit work area for safety compliance

  • Adhere to all UTAS rules and codes of conduct

  • Perform other duties as required and available for overtime as necessary| Education Required: List the minimum educational requirements or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Qualification:

  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience required

  • Operate hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment

  • Advanced knowledge in intricate hand assembly

  • Intermediate mechanical knowledge

  • Ability to operate measuring equipment

  • Willing to perform any task necessary to ensure the on-time delivery of the product to the customer

  • Willing to cross-train and work in all areas of assembly operation

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

  • Willing to perform hand and body warm-up exercises to minimize potential for repetitive motion injuries
