LinQuest Principal Operations Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado

DescriptionLinQuest is seeking a Principal Operations Engineer to join our team in ourColorado Springs,CO.The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT)effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering and Integration (SEandI)for the Air Force's Space and Missiles System Center. We acquire state ofthe art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing globalsecure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation'swarfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highlycollaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern toolsand methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space andgroResponsibilities:Provide expertise in system acquisition and transition planning, creatingroadmap schedules, analysis, requirements verification, technical reviewof documentation, and integration for MILSATCOM programs in the acquisitionlifDevelop and/or review various life cycle documentation to include, but notlimited to: project reports, briefings, System Transition Plans,Operational Acceptance (OA) and Initial Operational Capability (IOC)Plans, Materiel Fielding Plans (MFP), Depot Maintenance ActivationPlans (DMAP), Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP), OA/IOCcriteria, agreements, Request for Proposal (RFP) material, etc.Lead and manage system transition to operations process and activities,facilitate timely OA/IOC criteria closure and collect artifacts, assesssystem modifications/upgrades/changes, evaluate readiness againstrequirements and schedules, monitor progress, identify/assessdeficiencies and potential risks, document transition lessons learned forprocess improvement, and report status with recommendations to the ProgramOffiPrepare for and/or facilitate transition planning forums and working groupsto include, but not limited to: Transition Director forums, Integrationmeetings, Training Planning Team, Provisioning Conferences, technicaldesign reviews, etc.Support depot activation planning and execution, provisioning, andevaluate sparing reports against requirementsCreate and manage electronic databasesTravel: approximately 10%Required Skills:Bachelors of Science in technical field, such as Engineering, math,physics, computer science, or equivalentMicrosoft Office - proficientDoD Acquisition Management (DoDI 5000.02) - proficientSystem transition to operations and support - proficientOral/written communications (oral briefings, authoring documents) - proficientPreferred Skills:Satellite Operations - proficientSystems Engineering - knowledgeableAgile software development - knowledgeableTechnical Orders - knowledgeableTraining - knowledgeableContracting - knowledgeableFinancial Management - knowledgeableIntegrated Life Cycle Management - knowledgeableRequired Experience:15+ years related experience in DoD systems acquisition life cyclemanagement and/or operationsProgram Office and HQ AFSPC process knowledgeExperience in system transition to operations and support (OperationalAcceptance, Initial Operational Capability)Working autonomously with gov't customer, leading teams and projects,establishing/executing milestone and critical path schedulesExperience developing/reviewing life cycle management documentation(Transition Plans, Materiel Fielding Plans, etc.)Understanding of DoD and...
