U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/U. S. Army Forces Strategic Command Military Analyst (Concept Development) in Colorado Springs, Colorado


About the Position: This position is for a Military Analyst (Concept Development) with the US Army Space & Missile Defense Command, located at Colorado Springs, CO. The US Army Space & Missile Defense Command/ARSTRAT is participating in an alternate personnel system known as the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). Responsible for development of the command wargaming and experimentation strategy to examine emerging concepts within the Space, High Altitude, and Missile Defense mission areas.

Conducts primary and secondary research/analysis regarding National Military Strategy, National Security Strategy, Army, Joint, and combined doctrine and operational concepts.

Conducts qualitative analysis to evaluate effectiveness of Army concepts for Space Force Enhancement.

Reviews, analyzes, and develops plans and metrics to complete program reviews and provide Command oversight and evaluation of technology applications and use for technology experiments.


Conditions of Employment


This position MAY be scheduled to transfer to the United States Space Force, in the Department of the Air Force, no later than 30

September 2022 in accordance with the provision of Section 1707 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020, Public

Law 116-92. Upon transfer, employees will become Space Force employees, serviced by the Department of the Air Force. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing command wargaming and experimentation strategy concepts within space, high altitude and missile defense areas; preparing combat development plans and processes for space and high altitude operations; using qualitative and quantitative methods to complete data analysis regarding space missions and operations; and preparing and briefing leadership and/or management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02).
