Kratos Mechanical Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Mechanical EngineerPerform general mechanical engineering tasks as part of the EngineeringServices team for a broad range of electromechanical products. The primaryfunctions are to work with our systems engineers and product developmentengineers to help plan, conceptualize, and create hardware designs thatmeet our customer's requirements. Typical hardware requirements will bethermal operation, manufacturability, cost, supply chain,reliability, and regulatory compliance. Designed hardware will be primarilyelectronics packaging such as 19" rack enclosures and high performanceantenna mounted modules. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to create designsthat meet Customer or Product Management requirements, and work withinternal partners, vendors and contractors to realize the design. Provide design expertise and verification for a group of peer mechanicaldesigners. Interface with members of the production team to help solve manufacturingrelated design and assembly issues. Develop electronics packaging designs that meet targeted thermalrequirements using both analytical and empirical data. Develop testing processes and perform validation of new designs. Collaborate with compliance engineering to ensure products meet allapplicable regulatory requirements. Create technical drawings using CAD tools.Required Experience:Required Experience and Skills: 5-10 years of experience working in engineering with a preference forelectronic and electromechanical products. Experience using SolidWorks or similar CAD tool. Understanding of sheet metal, machining, extrusion, plasticmolding, and 3D printed fabrication processes. Understanding of worldwide regulatory compliance requirements (EMC,Safety, RoHS). Excellent math skills for applying mathematical principles and statisticsto solve problems. Multi-tasking in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Ability to interact with all levels of management/personnel, teamplayer who can quickly build rapport and credibility Excellent organizational, verbal, facilitation, listening, andwritten communication skills. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. GovernmentSecurity Clearance is required.Kratos offers challenging work, an excellent environment, and greatbenefits!
