Manage team of electrical/hardware engineers and program managers- Review and approve/reject component lifecycle changes as proposed by JDM- Collaborate with Supply Chain product engineers on product change implementations- Program manage release Storage JBOD FW through all relevant phases of program governance process- Establish and maintain program core team meeting as point of contact with all stake holders on JBOD lifecycle issues- Collaborate with L3/ERT, PIR and L4 design teams on Apollo 4000/Server product issues identified by customers and productsolutionpartners- Utilize Sales Force and Sudden Impact databases to proactively identify out of the ordinary customer cases to be followed up on- Participate in Apollo/Servernew product meetings to gain insight into new technologies and features in preparation for future sustaining requirements- Act as supplier interface for HDD/SSD failure analysis, establish root cause and drive for a closed loop corrective action- Establish and maintain close working relationship with Taiwan Apollo/ServerHW design team- Perform failure analysis and determine root cause on customer returned hardware; Drive corrective action implementation as appropriate
Other responsibilities include
o Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing and developing engineering solutions and coordinating projects for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms.
o Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
o Communicates project status and escalates issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners.
o Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.
o Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.
o Provides people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.
First level university degree or equivalent experience required.
May have advanced university degree.
Typically 5 or more years of related work experience, including 0 -2 years of people management experience.
Education Experience Required:
Experience with the application of PCI Express bus and SAS communication protocols
Knowledge of data virtualization (RAID levels) and the pros/cons of each
Experience with multi-processor server designs running Windows Server and Linux operating system variants
Experience with the design and execution of design verification tests at both server and solution level
Experience working across functional boundaries to investigate and determine root cause for customer found product failures
