You'll conceptualize and deliver complex mechanicalstructures and systems and your technical duties include the design anddevelopment of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.At SNC's ISR, Aviation and Security (IAS) team we are a leading mannedand unmanned aircraft systems integrator for high-performance intelligence,surveillance and reconnaissance, and aviation systems. IAS tailors solutionsto customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs toconsistently exceed expectations and provide a turnkey approach to enable ourcustomers to focus on their mission.Must-haves:Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplineand typically 10 or more years of relevant experienceUnderstanding of engineering principles and practicesExperience with Computer Aided Engineering toolsFamiliarity working in multi-disciplinary design and development teamsExperience with aerospace structural design, fabrication, and repairmethods for military and/or commercial aircraftLeadership in the design and development of complex and/or large aerospacestructuresFamiliarity with military and commercial aerospace catalog of standards,fasteners, and material propertiesProficiency in communication of designs via system design documents,technical design reviews, and informal model spins Proficiency in ASME Y14drawing standards and practices including the development of "productionlevel" technical data packages (Level 3 TDP)An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is requiredPreferred:Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing(GDandT) per ASME Y14.5Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structuralAnalysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Thermal AnalysisBackground in the Aerospace and Defense IndustryKnowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include,but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, materialhardware selection, manufacturing, and production processesExperience in the design, fabrication support, and operational support ofcomposite structures in structural and radio frequency (RF) equipmentsupport applicationsExperience in the thermal analysis and design of aircraft equipment includingthe consideration and design of Environmental Control System impact andintegration and design of forced convection cooling systemsExperience in the support of aerospace fabrication and installation activitiesin an operations liaison roleStrong knowledge and familiarity regarding the environmental compatibility ofequipment and installations per MIL-STD-810 and/or RTCA DO-160Familiarity with Model Based Definition (MBD) and Geometric Dimensioningand Tolerancing (GDandT) requirementsIMPORTANT NOTICE:This position requires current/active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
