We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join Pearson’s AI Products and Solutions team. Our mission is to enable the development of AI-first, outcome-driven products to improve learning experiences. The position provides the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research on a cross-functional team and contribute to developing products that have an impact on millions of learners around the globe. What You’ll Do
Apply Bayesian (and sometimes non-Bayesian) methods to further an ambitious R&D agenda, including Reinforcement Learning, Learner Models (psychometrics), and Probabilistic Graphical Models.
Collaboratively design AI systems, focusing on the interaction between the student and the app, to create efficacious learning outcomes.
Quickly develop POCs to prove out new ideas, implement AI capabilities into functional prototypes, and deliver features into our products.
Ideate, plan, and execute research and development, drawing upon advances in cognitive/learning sciences and machine learning, while leveraging cutting-edge computational frameworks and software.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and partners as well as management and leadership.

Who You Are
You have an advanced degree in a relevant field such as computer science, statistics, or data science.
You have deep expertise in Bayesian methods, probabilistic graphical models, or probabilistic programming (e.g. PyMC3, Edward, Stan, Infer.net, Pyro).
You have 5 years relevant experience.
You have strong technical and scientific prowess and experience showcasing strong software engineering skills using Python. Preferred experience includes git version control in shared team repositories, cloud technologies (e.g. Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Platform), containers (Docker), and web application development (including API, REST, JSON).
You have a passion for and demonstration of conducting research while maintaining an end-product vision.
You have a knack for creative problem solving, willingness to learn new technologies and skills, and ability to mentor peers.
The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $125,000-$135,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
