The Central Sub Region of Otis Elevator Company is searching for a highly motivated Regional Field Operations Manager to provide support and leadership for maintenance and open order as well as employee selection, training and safety for all assigned projects. Actual work location to be determined and would preferably be Seattle, Phoenix or Denver based.

Job Responsibilities

  • The Regional Field Operations Manager (RFOM) will provide technical direction to regional field operations and Sales and has active control of and responsibility for the quality of the maintenance and open order departments, in the region

  • Responsible for the investigation and resolution of critical customer problems with the use of Otis and non-Otis products. Reports on and presents recommendations on product design or performance requirements

  • Responsible for writing articles on adjustments, corrective actions required and general technical information for the field personnel

  • Manage direction of the Regional Field Engineer in the Central sub region by assigning to job sites in support of all modernization and service businesses

  • Have control and responsibility for the quality of all maintenance, repair and open order work, monitoring state testing inspection reports and resolving service problems

  • Make regular inspection trips through assigned territory to consult with Maintenance Supervisors, Adjustors and Examiners on problems encountered with product and service performance

  • On a proactive and emergency basis, offer assistance to the Region on the malfunctioning of equipment, determine needed corrective action, see that it is implemented and advise personnel. Utilize the CRC / Crex websites data to resolve problems with the highest callback units in assigned territory

  • Determine from patterns of complaints when a problem is repetitive and warrants a change in design or manufacture, seek the solution through the respective organization and see that it is completed within a reasonable time frame

  • Assist in designing and delivering field education classes

Education / Certifications

  • BA/BS degree required or equivalent in relevant work experience

Experience / Qualifications

  • Successful candidates must have 8-10 years field experience in troubleshooting, installing, maintaining and/or adjusting elevator and escalator components and systems

  • Experience working with field associates. Working knowledge of Otis and Non-Otis software and experience with current Otis and Non-Otis new sales and vintage Otis and Non-Otis products highly desired. Additionally, good analytical/problem solving skills required

  • Candidates must possess proficient oral and written communication and presentation skills to effectively interact with a wide variety of people with diverse background of all levels and disciplines

  • Candidates must have strong computer skills
