Mechanical Engineer – RS 2

Join our team to provide engineering design, systems integration, and product technical support for Payload Accommodations. Bring your mechanical design skills and your understanding of dynamic & structural analysis concepts. You will need to be able to perform system integration and system level trade studies to optimize designs for manufacturing, producibility and performance.

  • Develop system and component designs/layouts & requirements to satisfy overall systems requirements.

  • Develop design improvements that reduce cost & risk, and/or improve vehicle performance.

  • Generate engineering drawings as well as assembly and testing requirements. May involve new designs or modifications to existing designs.

  • Work collaboratively with mechanical engineers and representatives from manufacturing, quality, drafting and other engineering disciplines.

  • Directly support suppliers, factory, and launch site to ensure production schedules are met, and streamline operations to improve efficiency.

  • Familiar with mechanical design utilizing Siemens NX, CREO, Pro/Engineer, or other CAD modeling software

  • Familiar with structural and/or dynamics analysis

  • Goal oriented with an acute attention to detail

  • A team player with the ability to adapt within a dynamic working environment

  • Able to work extended hours, off shifts and weekends


  • Proficient in mechanical design utilizing Siemens NX

  • Experience in 3D PDF design process

  • Knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter design release process

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)

  • Knowledge of Aerospace design

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university and 2+ years’ experience in mechanical engineering field
