The ability to leverage priorexperience and expertise during the early stages of product design tocontribute in terms of Design for Reliability, Durability,Manufacturability/Assembly and Testability is essential.This position requires the ability to proactively drive internal productcategory strategy throughout the supply base, including manufacturingpartners and tier one suppliers to meet internal and external customerexpectations for quality. Successful execution of this role requires closecollaboration with product management, engineering and program management toidentify causes of potential product failures during the development phasesand drive corrective and preventative actions internally and/or withsupplier factories as needed. Candidate will need to integrate and workclosely with factory personnel, the product engineer is responsible for theintegration of materials, methods, and tools necessary to bring newproducts to the company portfolio. Also required is the ability to define andfacilitate implementation of product quality plans and utilize various qualitytools to identify and address potential failure modes in anticipation ofsuccessful product launches.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Engineer and assist with developing electronics products and productlines. Establish test procedures for quality assurance of finished product. Work with external resources to resolve product issues. Work with external design resources to ensure quality design andperformance. Assist in selection of materialRequired Skills and Responsibilities Serve as a key member on the product development team to anticipate andproactively manage product quality, durability and reliability issues andimprovement opportunities. Develop plans for preventing and addressing quality, durability andreliability issues and drive key lessons learned into the development cycle Utilize quality analytics tools to validate resolution of any issues toensure quality goals are met and sustainable. Develop and review product quality plans for new products. Participate in supplier/ODM quality management assessment andqualification of new partners relative to their impact on new productintroduction. Ensure adherence to company quality practices. Contribute to thedevelopment of key quality procedures leveraging industry best practices. Articulate and effectively communicate quality-related issues in terms ofrisk and potential impact to our brand, financials, schedules and otherbusiness objectives. At least 3-5 years of previous Quality Engineering experience required;consumer electronics experience highly desirable.
