Work in coordination with the Division Design Managers to make sure theDesign is submitted as per schedule, is cost efficient, low risk, highquality, fulfill the requirements of the Contract. Work in coordination withthe Technical Service Group and Construction Engineering Group to make surethe groups are engaged in the Design Stage whenever is required. This positionwill report to the Design Management Director.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Monitor and provide support in the development of the Detailed Design theactive D-B projects in direct contact with the Design Managers to make surethe design is cost efficient, low risk and high quality * Plan and co-ordinate the activities of the design process with the DesignManagers * Monitor and track the Design Schedule and Design Budget with the DesignManagers to make sure that the design is submitted as per the schedule andwithin the agreed budget * Challenge the design consultant technically when required to drive costefficiency in the design * Travel to project site offices to work hand in hand with the Flatirondesign teams and the design firms whenever is required * Ensure the Design meets the requirements of the Contract. Understand therequirements of the Contracts * Provides technical engineering guidance and input throughout the designstage * Produce along with the Design Managers the Design Progress Reports for theDesign Controls * Develop processes and procedures to support and improve the design process * Provide leadership, set standards and provide coaching for the FlatironDesign Managers * Maintaining organized and detailed project records * Provide support to other areas of the Design Management Group whenever isrequired REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university inCivil Engineering * 10-15 years of related Design Management experience in Infrastructureprojects (Design-Build projects) * Oriented to cost efficiency and value engineering * Demonstrated aptitude to understand civil engineering projects in all thephases; tender, design and construction * Demonstrate excellence in Civil Design Engineering skills, particularlyin Transportation Projects * Design experience in Structures or Roadways preferred * Familiarity with PC software packages typically associated with civilengineering. Highly computer literate in Excel/Word and PowerPoint * Ability to produce technical reports * Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills * Organizational ability - able to plan, prioritize, organize and monitoractivities and projects * Highly motivated, flexible and proactive * Able to work well in a group environment and foster a team approach * Excellent leadership skills * Ability to manage personnel on a day to day basis * High productivity, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a teamenvironment * Ability to work together with colleagues and external partners (such asdesign and engineering consultancies, joint venture partners, Owners,etc.) in a constructive way.
