Lynker TechnologiesDescription:The successful candidate will work with the Lynker team onprojects that involve:* Managing and processing large hydrometeorological data sets* Analyzing and performing quality control of hydrometeorological data* Calibrating, evaluating, and implementing models for use in NWS river,flood and drought forecasting processes; including hydrologic,hydraulic, reservoir and routing models* Developing and modifying hydrologic procedures, models, and techniquesto ensure optimal use of available technologies and data* Assessing client needs and formulating appropriate solutions* Designing, configuring, and implementing complex data acquisition,water supply, and river/flood forecasting systems utilizing Delft-FEWS* Performing water supply and climate change impact studies(flood/drought).Requirements:* Drive to identify and implement the best solutions for awide variety of clients* Good intuition* Strong communication skills* Direct experience in the analysis and processing of hydrometeorological data* Expertise in running and calibrating hydrologic, hydraulic, reservoir,and routing models* Direct experience with NWSRFS models such as SNOW-17, SAC-SMA, RES-J,LAG/K is important, and experience with HEC models such as ResSim,HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS would be a plus* Experience with streamflow forecasting, modeling, planning and decisionsupport systems (such as CHPS, FEWS, CWMS, VIC, DHSVM, PRMS,Riverware, StateMod) Familiarity with current NWS river/flood forecasting* Solid math, science or engineering background to understand,interpret, and apply techniques to calibrate and validate hydrologicforecasting models* Strong knowledge and understanding of hydrologic concepts and principles andtheir application in operational hydrologic forecasting* Skill in GIS, handling and analyzing large gridded datasets; remote sensing* Proficiency in Windows and LINUX environments; scripting and programmingskills is a plusEducation/Experience* MS Degree in Civil Engineering or Science with emphasis in Hydrology/WaterResources.* 3-5years of related technical experience in the field of hydrology, waterresources, meteorology, or related physical science.About LynkerLynker Technologies, LLC is a growing, Hub-zone certified small businessspecializing in professional, scientific and technical services.
