We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to contribute to research investigating the underlying mechanisms of stress resilience/vulnerability, as studied in an animal model. In vivo experimental approaches include optogenetics, chemogenetics, activity-dependent capturing and manipulating of neuronal ensembles, fiber photometry, microdialysis, immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, and a variety of behavioral measures.
Duties include, but are not limited to, executing day-to-day experiments, contribution to experimental design, analysis and interpretation, manuscript preparation, and providing general lab support as needed.
Start date is approximate and flexible
Required Qualifications: Position requires excellent organizational skills, demonstrated ability to accurately complete detailed work, and an ability to work under deadlines with general guidelines. This position also requires a BS/BA degree in neuroscience, psychology, biology, or related biomedical field.
Desired Qualifications: Past research experience in a biological laboratory is highly desirable. Experience with any of the following would be an added advantage: immunohistochemistry, general molecular biological techniques, confocal imaging, behavioral testing, small rodent surgeries, MATLAB, and statistical analysis.
