University of Colorado PostDoctoral Associate in Boulder, Colorado
The laboratory of new Assistant Professor Vignesh Kasinath in the Department of Biochemistry (https://vigneshkasinath.org) is encouraging applications for talented and motivated postdoctoral scholars interested in using cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), and/or cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET) to decipher the structural and mechanistic role of large macromolecular assemblies in gene regulation.
The lab offers the opportunity to work directly with the PI on many research projects. Candidates with a strong interest in structural biology, cryo-EM, a track record of publications in biochemistry or biophysics and above all, the desire and ability to learn are encouraged to apply.
CU Boulder, besides being a phenomenal place to live, has a state-of-the art Titan Krios G3i with a Gatan K3 Direct Electron Detector Camera, FEI Tecnai F30 with a Gatan K2 Summit Direct Electron Detector Camera, FEI Tecnai F20 with a Gatan K3 Direct Electron Detector Camera, and a FEI Tecnai T12 Spirit with a 4k x 4k CCD camera. CU Boulder is also currently being set up as a NIH-centre for cryo-ET with the expected arrival of FEI Aquilos 2 cryo-FIB, Leica THUNDER CLEM, and Cryosol Vitrojet.
