The College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Colorado Boulder is currently seeking applications for tenure-track faculty positions in the area of Materials Science and Engineering. These positions are part of the long-term growth plans for the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS), and we are especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and service, to the diversity and excellence of our academic community. The positions are open at all levels, with emphasis on applicants at the Assistant Professor level. The search is open to all areas of Materials Science and Engineering. We encourage applications from candidates who can complement and strengthen existing college research in MSE or develop new high-impact research directions. Consideration will also be given to the overall originality and promise of the candidate’s work.
Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree in an appropriate field of engineering or the sciences. The search spans all application domains and successful candidates will be rostered in a suitable CEAS department as well as a potentially appointed in the interdisciplinary Materials Science and Engineering graduate program. Materials Science and Engineering faculty participate in several of the College’s Interdisciplinary Research Theme (IRT) initiatives including Multi-Functional Materials, Imaging Science, and Precision Biomaterials which support faculty collaboration and provide seed funding for innovative research. Candidates will be expected to engage in undergraduate and graduate teaching, contribute professional service, and develop vigorous, externally funded research programs in their technical areas. Candidates whose expertise cuts across engineering and related disciplines are especially encouraged to apply. Potential faculty members should describe their plans to develop a recognized research program based on scholarly work in their particular field, their ideas for interdisciplinary collaboration, their experience and interests in teaching undergraduates and graduates, and their future plans for inspiring diverse students to conduct research.
