The Operations Strategic Support Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from technologies and investments to supply chain, manufacturing and test operations, facilities management, and information technology services.

Machine Shop Estimator

Ball Aerospace, located in Boulder, CO, is looking to hire a qualified machine shop estimator to support daily quote requests. You’ll be working directly with the Manufacturing Manager and our Scheduling Team daily.

What you'll do:

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • Review and prioritize quotes daily based on need dates and program expedites.

  • Maintain excellent communication with all organizations directly related to the manufacturing floor.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

  • What you'll need:

  • High School and 14 or more years, Two-year technical degree with 12 or more years

  • Preferred 20+ years of labor estimating in a CNC machine shop environment including lathes (2-5 axis), mills (3-5 axis) and wire EDM.

  • Working knowledge of metal fabrication, welding and plating processes lead-times.

  • Strong GD&T understanding on engineering drawings.

  • Computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with Velocity ERP.

  • Must be self-managed and driven to achieve quality on time deliveries of product.

  • Must be able to effectively participate in a team environment with members from all disciplines.

  • W orking Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled machine shop.

  • Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Relocation for this position is available.
