Oracle Data Scientist – Rotational Program in Boulder, Colorado

Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse big data sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement.

Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. 2 years relevant experience and BA/BS degree preferred.

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

Oracle Advertising is a leader in digital advertising. We bring data and technology together to help the world’s largest advertisers reach the right audience, in the right environment, and measure the impact of their campaigns. To do this we rely on 80 data scientists spanning teams that support our various products.

You would join our Data Science Rotational Program, which would allow you to gain experience with four different Data Science teams during your first two years. You will develop your skills with Data Science research & engineering, as well as your ability to support the application of our Data Science products. After completing your rotations, you will work with leaders to identity the Data Science team that best fits you for the long term.


  • Location: Remote or at Oracle campus, Broomfield, CO (currently closed due to COVID-19)

  • Start Date: July 19, 2021

  • Hours: full time, 40 hours per week, generally 8 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday

  • Pay: highly competitive salary & stock units based on education level & experience

Responsibilities:Support Data Science team’s key initiatives, which may involve…

  • Research & test new algorithms & methods to improve Oracle Advertising products

  • Develop & deploy new product features in collaboration with Product & Engineering teams

  • Ensure features are built at enterprise scale with quality & security built in

  • Conduct market-facing research and/or custom analyses for clients

  • Develop & deploy internal analytics tools


To be considered for a Data Scientist role with Oracle Advertising & Customer Experience, you must possess the Objective Minimum Qualifications (OMQs) below. Please ensure that your application clearly indicates that you meet these OMQs, either on your resume and/or by uploading additional documents such as a transcript.

  • OMQs:

o Completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree by spring 2021 in a quantitative discipline—such as data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, operations research, data analytics

o Proficiency (e.g. able to complete project work without assistance) with 2 or more of the following data-science tools: Python, SQL, R, Hive, Spark, Hadoop, Scala

o Proficiency (e.g. able to complete project work without assistance) with 2 or more of the following data-science methodologies: big-data querying, machine learning, data visualization, data mining, statistical inference/analysis, or equivalent

o Reside in the United States and/or attend a university in the US

o Able to obtain work authorization in the US in 2021

o Have no more than 12 months of professional full-time work experience in the technology field (EXCLUDING internships, research and/or teaching assistant roles, and military experience).
